NEW BERN, N.C.—Wheatstone is bringing in the big guns to help promote its new version of the VoxPro 7 recorder/editor at the 2017 NAB Show, announcing iHeartMedia and CBS Radio personality Kaden will be on hand to demonstrate the product for attendees.
VoxPro is a recorder/editor/playback system designed for live radio. It consists of software and a USB hardware control panel for recording and editing without a mouse. The control panel also features a scrub wheel for editing of voice, sound effects and music clips on two tracks.
New for the VoxPro 7 model is the ClipCleaner, a signal processing toolset that includes spectral display, parametric EQ, de-esser, compressor, expander, limiter and noise gate for processing channels independently or jointly. FX Marcos are also among the VoxPro 7’s new features, enabling the creation of one-button macros for frequently used effects and editing operations. In addition, the new version features a QuikSearch box on-screen along with the ability to color-code files and hotkeys.
Other new features include support for importing 24-bit files; a GapBuster feature to automatically detect the noise floor; and the use of a hardware-based graphics library. The system supports WheatNet-IP audio networking and has the ability to import and export MP3, MP2, WAV, AIFF and WMA files.
Wheatstone will release the VoxPro 7 system in June. It will be on display at Wheatstone’s booth, N6531, during the 2017 NAB Show, with the Kaden demonstration taking place April 24 and 25 from 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., and 11 a.m. on April 26.
