KENT, England—Following the release of Glensound’s Dante network audio systems, the U.K.-based company has announced that it will offer Dante versions of some of its products. Glensound will reveal three of these products, the Express ip, GS-FW012 ip and Vita, at the 2016 NAB Show.
The Express ip is the Dante version of the Express Box. It is a two user desktop commentary unit with four headphone inputs, and each commentator having four separate level pots to create a monitoring mix. The system also features two programmable talkback outputs for each commentator to switch their mic to the talkback output, as well as a direct mic. The main power supply is provided by an internal switch, but it can also be powered by PoE.
The GS-FW012 is a four circuit, four wire desktop unit with individual talkback switches to each 4 W circuit. The unit comes with a top panel speaker and built-in or external microphone connection. The 4x4 W inputs each have a level control to the headphones; there is also a local XLR cue input.
The Dante version of Glensound’s GS-CU004 is the two circuit 4 W belt pack unit Vita. The network audio connection is via a single CAT5/RJ45, and can power the unit via PoE. A headset can be connected through the XLR input with a 6.35mm jack socket. The 4 W outputs have programmable switches to switch the main mic input to the 4W outputs, and the 4 W audio returns have adjustable levels into the headphones that can be switched between the left and right ears.
Glensound will display this new systems at its booth, C2948, during the 2016 NAB Show, which takes place from April 16-21 in Las Vegas.
