ENCO Boosts DAD Radio Automation for NAB Show
Strengthens integration between production and newsroom operations
April 11, 2017
SOUTHFIELD, Mich.—Visitors to ENCO’s NAB Show booth will get a new look DAD radio automation system, one with new features to enhance its production and newsroom operations, as well as diversify options for dissemination of Program Associated Data.
One of the new features of the DAD upgrade is the iNews MOS interface. The interface will allow DAD systems to play out assets from the Avid iNews newsroom computer system. With support for the Media Object Server-based protocol, DAD users can now add, move and modify audio embedded into iNews stories. Changes are automatically synchronized with playlists.
An addition of MetaPub metadata management has also been made to the PADapult program, which integrates with DAD and enables operators to send real-time texts to primary and secondary HD radio channels, RDS encoders, web streamers or other data accepting locations. This new functionality allows PADapult to get metadata from ContentDepot’sMetaPub. PADapult users can then provide the metadata to listeners for any live PRSS program.
ENCO is also planning on offering a demonstration of how DAD software can be virtualized by pairing it with the ENCO1 virtualized automation system using existing IP audio technologies. The company will also have the automatic failover software it introduced at IBC last year.
ENCO will be located at booth N2024 during the 2017 NAB Show, which takes place from April 24-27.
