NAB Opens 2009 Marconi Radio Award Nominations
Washington, DC - May 1, 2009 - The 2009 NAB Marconi Radio Awards nomination process is now open. Marconi Radio awards are presented to stations and personalities exemplifying overall excellence in radio broadcasting. General managers can nominate their station for a Marconi Radio Award by market size -- major, large, medium and small -- or by format: AC, CHR, Country, News/Talk, Oldies, Religious, Rock, Spanish, Sports and Urban. Stations may also submit nominations for Legendary Station.
On-air personalities are also eligible for a Marconi Radio Award. Nominations are being accepted based on market size. Additionally, radio personalities can be nominated in the Network/Syndicated Radio Personality and Spanish Format Personality categories.
Stations must submit their nominations online at www.nab.org/awards/marconis. All nominations must be received by May 31. Finalists will be announced in July.
On Sept. 24, the winners will be announced during the NAB Marconi Radio Awards Dinner and Show at The NAB Radio Show in Philadelphia (Sept. 23-25).
Winners are chosen by the NAB Marconi Radio Awards Selection Academy. The Academy is made up of general managers, program directors, regional radio executives, owners, programming consultants and former radio executives. Applications for membership into the Academy can be received by contacting Chris Suever at csuever@nab.org or 202-775-3511.
