Pittsburgh SBE Cancels 2009 Convention
Monroeville, PA - Sep 15, 2009 - The Society of Broadcast Engineers Chapter 20 has held a regional convention for the past 38 years. 2009 marks the first time the group has been forced to cancel its convention. On the chapter website, the group says:
For the first time in 38 years the difficult financial environment has necessitated cancelling our Annual Broadcast Equipment Expo.
Please honor the vendors who signed up for booth space, by considering their companies in your spending plans this year. We will be refunding their money.
The Pittsburgh expo has hosted the SBE National Meeting several times, although the 2009 National Meeting is being held in Verona, NY.
Radio magazine expects the chapter will try to organize an expo for 2010.
