SBE Announces 2010 Membership Drive Winners

Indianapolis, IN - Jul 1, 2010 - During the annual SBE Membership Drive, the Society of Broadcast Engineers welcomed 198 new members, 52 of whom were recruited by other members. SBE President Vinny Lopez, CEV CBNT said, "Recruiting new members helps keep the Society strong, and I am very pleased that many SBE members took an active role in this year's membership drive."

SBE members who recruited during the drive, held March 1-May 31, were entered into the prize drawing for each person he recruited. Prize winners were drawn on June 12.

The grand prize winner is John Ramsey from Hartford, CT, who won a trip to the SBE National Meeting in Madison, WI, and an HDTV courtesy of the SBE. The first prize winner is Mark Heller, CBRE CTO, from Two Rivers, WI, who won a Panasonic Lumix digital camera courtesy of Panasonic. The second prize winner is Larry Bloomfield from Florence, OR, who won a Paladin Tools PT-540 courtesy of BSW.

Other prizes were awarded, including books, manufacturer logo items, small tools and a microphone.

Every SBE member who recruited a new member earns $5 off his 2011 dues for each new member, up to $25.
