Indianapolis - Mar 12, 2009 - The Society of Broadcast Engineers 2009 Membership Drive is now underway. It runs through May 31, 2009. "Strength in Numbers" is this year's theme.
The SBE offers prizes as an incentive to existing members to recruit new members. The grand prize this year is a Sony HDTV and a trip to the 2009 SBE National Meeting at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino in Verona, NY, from Oct. 6 - 7. The travel prize includes airfare for one to Syracuse, NY, from within the Continental U.S., ground transportation and two nights stay at Turning Stone.
The first prize is a Panasonic Blu-Ray Player, courtesy of Panasonic. Four Second Prizes will be awarded of Eton E1XM AM/FM/Shortwave/XM-ready Radios, courtesy of Westwood One.
Other prizes include pocket-size external hard drives, headphones, books, shirts and tools. In addition to being entered in the Membership Drive prize drawing, a member will also receive a five-dollar discount on his 2010 membership renewal for each new member he/she recruits (up to five members).
In announcing this year's membership drive, SBE President Barry Thomas, CPBE, CBNT said, "The Society's greatest asset is its Strength in Numbers. I urge you to join with your colleagues to support the one group created to support, educate, certify and promote your profession."
By being a part of the SBE, members have access to many resources, which will help them develop their careers, create technical support networks with other engineers and receive recognition for their knowledge and achievements.
