Indianapolis - June 23, 2010 - After sending a letter to FCC Chairman Juluis Genachowski and several other FCC officials, the Society of Broadcast Engineers has been heard and has been asked to participate in the FCC's Broadcast Engineering Forum to be held June 24, 2010. Representing the organization will be SBE National Vice President Ralph Hogan, CPBE DRB CBNT, and SBE board member Joe Snelson, CPBE 8-VSB.

The SBE letter from SBE President Vinny Lopez, CEV CBNT, noted the SBE's dismay at not being included in the discussions when the SBE is the leading organization representing broadcast engineers in the US. This came after the FCC's Media bureau answered initial inquiries about the omission by saying that that the participants were already set and nothing could be done.
