Broussard Named President of Alliance for Women in Media
McLean, VA - Mar 25, 2010 - The Alliance for Women in Media (formerly the American Women in Radio and Television) has named Cary J. Broussard as its new president, effective April 5, 2010.
Broussard joins the Alliance for Women in Media from Wyndham Hotel Group, where she served as vice president, communications, responsible for global communications and market positioning for the hotel company. Broussard also served as senior vice president, women's marketing and diversity for Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, where she launched Women On Their Way, an initiative that marketed a major hotel brand direct to women business travelers.
Broussard has served on the boards of Women Impacting Public Policy (WIPP), the Women’s Leadership Exchange and several other academic and non-profit boards. She is the author of the international business book From Cinderella to CEO and has toured and spoken extensively on women's issues. She is a former honorary trustee of the Foundation of AWRT and held voluntary board positions with several non-profit organizations that have made significant strides for women.
Broussard's association management experience includes having served as vice president, marketing and brand management for Meetings Professionals International (MPI), where she launched the organization's new brand architecture and directed marketing strategy for its business units. Previous positions also include service as deputy press secretary for Senator Howard Baker during his tenure as U.S. Senate Majority Leader in Washington, DC.
