CRB Honors CRS Founder
Nashville, TN - Sep 27, 2010 - Country Radio Broadcasters has unveiled its Tom McEntee Memorial Conference Room in honor of Country Radio Seminar founder and former CRB Executive Chairman Tom McEntee. McEntee, who passed away on Sept. 24, 2009, served as CRB executive chairman and president for the organization's first decade. He also created the CRB's flagship event, Country Radio Seminar.
McEntee received the CRB President's Award in 2001, the same year he graduated on the Dean's List from Tennessee State University with a degree in psychology. He was awarded the Nashville Mayor's Award in 1994 and the BMI Commendation of Excellence in 1989.
In addition to his involvement with Country Radio Broadcasters, McEntee started the radio tip sheet Country Music Survey and served as country chart editor at Cashbox magazine. His career also included stints in radio promotion, publicity, bio writing, artist management and songwriting. He was involved in the careers of Alabama, Jimmy Buffett, Earl Thomas Conley, Jimmy Dean, Lefty Frizzell, Hank Williams Jr. and many other artists.
The newly renovated CRB offices in Nashville include the Tom McEntee Memorial Conference Room.
