2011 Golden Mike Award Honors Alan W. Frank, Raises More than $300,000
New York - Mar 2, 2011 - More than 300 radio and television broadcasters attended the Feb. 28, 2011, event to honor Alan W. Frank, president and CEO, Post-Newsweek Stations, as he received the 2011 Golden Mike Award. The fundraiser generated more than $300,000 in support of the Broadcasters Foundation of America, the charity that provides aid to broadcasters in desperate need.
The award was presented to Frank by Deborah Norville of Inside Edition, Phil Lombardo and Jim Thompson from the Broadcasters Foundation.
During the evening, the Foundation recognized the Stu Olds family. A fund established in Olds' name after he passed away in December 2010 has raised more than $450,000 in support of the Foundation's mission. Olds was the chief executive officer and president of Katz Media Group.
