Kelly, Lebermann and Thomas Elected SBE Fellows

Las Vegas - Apr 11, 2011 - The board of directors of the Society of Broadcast Engineers has elected Charles W. Kelly, Jr.; Arthur Lebermann, CPBE;and Barry Thomas, CPBE CBNT; to the membership grade of SBE Fellow. All three were elected during the SBE board of directors meeting held during the 2011 NAB Show on April 10.

Chuck Kelly

Kelly is the director of international sales for Nautel, based in Nova Scotia, Canada, and is a member of SBE Chapter 49 in Central Illinois. Kelly is a past national president of the SBE and currently serves as chair of the SBE International Committee.

Lebermann is transmitter supervisor for KGO and KSFO, San Francisco and KMKY, Oakland. He is the chairman of SBE Chapter 40 in San Francisco.

Barry Thomas

Thomas, CPBE CBNT is the corporate vice president of engineering for radio, Lincoln Financial Media. He is immediate past president of the SBE and is a member of SBE Chapter 5 in Atlanta.

The SBE Fellow Award recognizes members who have rendered conspicuous service, or who have made valuable contributions to the advancement of broadcast engineering or its allied professions, the dissemination of knowledge thereof or the promotion of its application in practice.

The three recipients will be recognized and formally receive their Fellow designation during the SBE National Meeting in Columbus, OH, on Sept. 28, 2011.
