Leo Laporte, host of Premiere Radio Networks' radio talk show The Tech Guy, has installed an Axia IP-audio network and Element 2.0 broadcast console at his Petaluma, CA, studio.

The Educational Media Foundation has placed an initial order for 25 EASWATCH ESM-1 units to capture and forward station EAS activity to its central server for logging.

Citadel Media has signed an agreement with Listener Driven Radio (LDR), a new platform that allows listeners to program their favorite radio stations. LDR radio listeners are able to request songs, affect playlists and upload or vote for new music through radio station websites, smartphones, Iphones, Facebook, My Space and Friendster as well as 80 other social networks. Radio groups already utilizing LDR include Virgin Radio France, RFM France, The Joy-FM Radio Network and KTTB in Minneapolis.

Societatea Romana de Radiodifuziune (SRR), the Romanian Radio Broadcasting Company, has deployed the NOA Audio Solutions Mediarc system to support a project dubbed Golden Fonoteca, the migration of its analog audio archive to a secure, fully managed digital system for long-term preservation and improved accessibility.

Dating back to the 1950s, SRR's collection includes more than 125,000 hours of sound stored on almost 600,000 carriers -- including 1/4" magnetic tape, DAT tape, vinyl and rubber records, and CDs -- and full migration is expected to take about 10 years. To accomplish it, SRR's Mediarc system has deployed six NOA Ingest Line devices with a concurrent license model of NOA Record, Medialector, and CD Lector system, supporting a total of 28 concurrent audio paths.
