CES 2017: Alpine Products Hit the Road

New audio systems designed for in-car entertainment January 6, 2017

LAS VEGAS—Alpine Electronics of America took the opportunity at CES 2017 to highlight a number of its new audio products designed specifically for in-car/outdoor entertainment. These include the iLX-107, the X209-WRA and i209-WRA specifically for Jeep Wranglers, and a portable cooler for outdoor use, the Alpine ICE.

The iLX-107 is an aftermarket in-dash receiver for wireless Apple CarPlay. The AM/FM receiver features a 7-inch touch screen and LED backlighting and can be accessed through the touch screen or through Siri voice control, with music, directions and phone calls played through the car’s speaker system. The iLX-107 can automatically connect to the most frequently paired iPhone (iPhone 5 or later) through a 5 GHz Wi-Fi band for its wireless connectivity.

Alpine is also offering new 9-inch in-dash systems specifically designed for the Jeep Wrangler, the X209-WRA and i209-WRA system. Both units and all-weather models, with splash-proof and dust-proof touch screens and feature connectivity to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto features. Specific audio features for these units include access to HD radio, iPod and iPhone compatibility, audio streaming, Pandora control, Free Lossless Audio Control music playback via USB, and Sirius-XM.

Third, Alpine has combined audio entertainment with keeping a brewski nice and cold with its PWD-CB1 Alpine In-Cooler Entertainment (ICE) system. ICE features a 180 watt Alpine speaker system and offers Bluetooth wireless connection for audio streaming, as well as the ability to pair to a portable device through its control panel. It also comes with a side-mounted 3.5mm aux input for connecting to a wired device and a 3.5mm audio output that can link multiple ICE systems together.

CES 2017 is currently underway in Las Vegas.
