CBS Radio, DTS Partner for HD Radio Sound Space at KROQ

The new arrangement makes HD Radio the exclusive sponsor of the renovated performance space February 27, 2017
LOS ANGELES — KROQ(FM), CBS Radio’s alternative rock station in the LA market, and DTS, parent company of HD Radio, have partnered in a multi-year agreement to create a series of intimate live shows featuring the biggest names in alternative rock, hosted inside the newly redesigned HD Radio Sound Space at KROQ.

The premiere performance of 2017 will be held Feb. 27 at 3 p.m. (PT) featuring the band AFI.

The Sound Space at KROQ is located inside the KROQ Studios in Culver City and was built in 2011. The new partnership with DTS makes HD Radio the exclusive sponsor of the performance space, which features a new interior and exterior design with special upgrades made specifically to lighting and artwork.

It should be noted that KROQ’s HD2 audio stream is a favorite among many radio engineers here in the Los Angeles area and it’s no surprise that DTS would partner with a station that provides a great example of just what can be done using HD radio. Coverage of KROQ’s HD extends from the western end of the San Fernando Valley all the way down to the Orange county border and beyond.
