New York - May 12, 2009 - Clear Channel Radio has opened the P.C. Richard and Son Theater performance space in New York City. The 5,500 square-foot, street-level performance space will serve as the live performance home for Clear Channel Radio's New York-based radio stations -- Z100, Q104.3, 106.7 Lite-fm, Power 105.1 and WKTU -- as well as the east-coast home for Iheartradio original productions, including the company's stripped and new performances.
The theater's inaugural live performance is Tinted Windows, a group including Taylor Hanson of Hanson, James Iha of Smashing Pumpkins, Bun E. Carlos of Cheap Trick and Adam Schlesinger of Fountains of Wayne. Many performances will be recorded and made available to listeners.
The P.C. Richard and Son Theater is located inside Clear Channel Radio's New York headquarters in the Tribeca district. It can accommodate up to 220 people. Housed in the art deco building created in 1933 as the world headquarters of AT&T, the space was originally built as a rest area and dance hall for AT&T telephone operators.
