WASHINGTON— The 2014 Radio Show will feature a conversation between FCC Commissioner Ajit Pai and NAB President and CEO Gordon Smith at the Radio Luncheon on September 12.
Pai and Smith will discuss communications policy and how it affects free, local radio broadcasting. The luncheon will also include the presentation of the National Radio Award to Bud Walters, founder and president of the Cromwell Group.
Pai joined the FCC as Commissioner in May 2012. During his time at the FCC, Pai has made AM radio revitalization a priority at the commission. Between 2007 and 2011, Pai held several positions in the FCC's Office of General Counsel, including deputy general counsel. Prior to joining the FCC, he was a partner in the communications practice at Jenner & Block LLP and associate general counsel at Verizon Communications Inc.
The 2014 Radio Show is jointly produced by the Radio Advertising Bureau and National Association of Broadcasters and will be held September 10-12 in Indianapolis.
