Washington - Mar 12, 2010 - The Federal Communications Commission's Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau will hold a technical panel on March 17, 2010, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. ET to discuss the 700MHz nationwide interoperable public safety wireless broadband network. The panel will be held in the Commission Meeting Room (TW-C305).
The panel will provide viewpoints on the technical design, operation and evolution of the public safety wireless broadband network. Issues to be addressed will include:
Technical standards to ensure interoperability Network coverage, reliability and capacity Opportunities to leverage commercial technology to lower public safety network and equipment costs Technical issues associated with roaming and priority access
