Washington - May 24, 2011 - The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has planned a series of educational Web events for EAS. The first event will be a virtual roundtable on June 9, 2011, focused on the upcoming EAS national test. FEMA asks those interested to visit the IPAWS Idea Sharing website before the June 9 webinar to share ideas, questions and concerns about the upcoming EAS National Test.
The Society of Broadcast Engineers notes that neither the Idea Sharing Site or the webinar will focus on CAP, but will focus on the national test.
There are separate radio and TV roundtables planned for the June 9 webinar. Industry and state and local government leaders in the emergency alert and warning field will participate. The virtual roundtable is designed to promote a free exchange of solutions-based ideas in a positive, authentic, and collegial atmosphere.

Submit ideas, best practices, and vote on the National Dialogue on the Emergency Alert System website to select the top 5 ideas, which will be directly discussed among virtual roundtable industry leaders and experts.
