Montgomery, AL - Jun 20, 2011 - In May 2011, Raycom Media conducted a survey following the April 27, 2011, storms and tornadoes that swept through Alabama. The survey was designed to better understand how people were alerted to the dangers, how they made preparations and the progress of the recovery efforts.
The National Association of Broadcasters shared the information with the chairmen and ranking members of the Senate and House Judiciary Committees.
TV on average was used by 53 percent of the respondents and radio by 37 percent of the respondents. The Internet, mobile phones and other resources were each used by less than 5 percent of the respondents.
