Alert FM has been installed Tipton County, TN, through a purchase by the Memphis/Shelby Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI), and in Marshall County, MS. The initial Tipton County/Memphis area stations, participating in Alert FM are WKBQ, WKNO, WYPY, and WKIM. Marshall County-area stations participating in ALERT FM are WRBO, WMSB, WBLE, WZLO and WWMS. This brings the total of stations participating in the Alert FM network to more than 125 radio stations from Tennessee, Mississippi and around the United States.

Accuweather has signed a partnership with the United Stations Radio Networks to enhance services to The Accuweather Radio Network. The multi-year agreement appoints USRN to serve as Accuweather's affiliate relations and advertising sales team throughout the United States. USRN will recruit new affiliates for the Accuweather Radio Network and monetization of radio spots.

The first Barix Exstreamer 1000 has been installed in the U.S. by the Standard Media Group, based in North Hollywood, CA. The station is using the Barix Exstreamer 1000 to deliver the Martini in the Morning program via IP to 1480 KPHX-AM in Phoenix for local transmission.

The Barix Exstreamer 1000 is a professional Audio over IP device designed specifically for radio broadcasters. The half-width product combines Barix Instreamer and Exstreamer functionality in one device. It is also the first Barix Instreamer or Exstreamer device to include contact closures to trigger and control local announcements.

Logitek has received console system expansion orders from several existing customers.

  • WSJM (Benton Harbor, MI) added a Mosaic-10 control surface and additional DSP cards to its console system.
  • Univision Fresno (KZOL/KOND) added two Audio Engines, the Vscreen GUI and a Mosaic-12 surface to it system to accommodate a move to a new facility.
  • In addition, a new Artisan-22 console system with Audio Engine router was sold to PBS TV station KSPS in Spokane, WA.

    For the 12th year in a row, a broad range of Audio-Technica microphones was selected to outfit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony. A-T supplied more than 50 mics to capture the audio for the musical event, which took place at Cleveland's Public Hall on April 4, 2009.

    On April 28 WNYC will open the doors of its new street-level public space, The Jerome L. Greene Performance Space. The station consulted with Vintage King Audio when it came time to select the main consoles for both The Greene Space and WNYC's music studio in its new Hudson Square facilities.

    The NTI Acoustilyzer AL1 is being used as an applause meter for shows, such as the annual Song Contest Festival in Feldkirch, Austria. The event stages hobby and leisure-time stars who are ranked based on the generated applause level. The song contest winner is determined by the average applause level over 10 seconds.
