Italian transmitter manufacturer has acquired U.S. radio equipment manufacturer December 20, 2017

FERRARA, Italy — Italian FM transmitter manufacturer Elenos has acquired U.S. radio equipment manufacturer Broadcast Electronics, the companies announced.

Elenos’ FM transmitters are known for their “compact design, reliability, and sound quality,” as well as a focus on energy efficiency, according to the announcement.

Two years earlier, Elenos acquired Itelco and its analog and digital TV transmitter technology. The company also includes the 22HBG and FM-world brands.

BE was founded in 1959 and began manufacturing transmitters in 1977. The company is among the largest manufacturers of radio equipment in the US.
