MONTEBELLO, Calif.—A new portable digital stereo recorder is now available from Tascam, the DR-100mkIII. The handheld digital stereo recorder is capable of delivering 192 kHz/24-bit resolution with 109 dB S/N ratio.

The DR-100mkIII features dual-mono AKM “Velvet Sound” converters that combine with Tascam’s HDDA microphone preamps. The recorder supports SDXC cards up to 128 GB. It also features dual stereo mics in both AB and omnidirectional patterns, two XLR/combo jacks, switchable phantom power, and a dedicated input level control.

Tascam also included its Dual Recording Mode for simultaneous capture of a lower level safety track for protection against source level spikes. The recorder is powered by either a rechargeable, built-in Li-ion battery or AA batteries.
