Belar Offers New Lite Versions of Modulation Monitors
HD Radio and all-in-one monitors emphasize remote monitoring capability of WizWin software
April 6, 2016
WEST CHESTER, Pa.—Belar Electronics has unveiled new versions of its flagship HD Radio and all-in-one modulation monitors. These updated monitors now emphasize the remote monitoring capability of the company’s WizWin software and feature all the monitoring power and feature sets of the FMHD-1 Lite’s and FMCS-1 Lite’s predecessors.
The 1RU versions eliminate the front panel user interface while retaining meters, alarms and enhanced monitoring features. These include Belar’s Automatic Delay Correction software for managing HD Diversity Delay; automated, multichannel scanning of FM and HD Radio stations; and enhanced WizWin graphing display up to 24 hours of monitoring data. Graphical options include dynamic histograms and raw value tables, providing evidence of performance as well as insight into trends.
The FMHD-1 Lite and FMCS-1 Lite (shown at right) rely on WizWin’s IP connectivity for remote monitoring. The reliance on remote monitoring can also be used for remote transmitter sites and single-frequency transmitter networks with multiple translator or repeater locations.
Users have full access to all modulation readings, spectrums, HD Radio data and subcarrier information, regardless of transmission architecture. The FMHD-1 Lite and FMCS-1 Lite also provide the same email and relay alarming as the original versions for critical issues.
Belar will display the new modulation monitors at its booth, C3713, during the 2016 NAB Show in Las Vegas.
