Wheatstone Introduces FM-55e Audio Processor
It's the second generation of the FM-55 processor
May 5, 2017
NEW BERN, N.C.—The 2017 NAB Show served as a launching pad for Wheatstone’s second generation FM-55 audio processor, the FM-55e. With all the same features of the FM-55, the FM-55e adds enhanced iAGC controls and a new bass processing design.
The FM-55e is a multi-band audio processor designed for FM stations that need sound consistency across a variety of source material. Its iAGC technology is coupled with a five-band limiter and stereo generator, and has five-band stereo enhancement and program adaptive L-R control for multipath mitigation.
The FM-55e fully supports the WheatNet-IP Intelligent Network and is equipped with two analog composite outputs, two SCA inputs, balance analog Left/Right outputs and an AES digital output that can be switched to deliver Left/Right or baseband 192 digital multiplex signal.
Wheatstone is offering the FM-55e in a 1RU package with front panel OLED display and GUI navigation. Current FM-55 users will be able to upload FM-55e for free when released later this year.
