Calrec Launches Ravenna/AES67 Interface

Interface can transport 256 channels of audio on a single connection March 17, 2016

MUNICH—Calrec Audio has announced that it will bring a 1U Ravenna/AES67 interface to the upcoming 2016 NAB Show. This networking interface is designed to interface with Calrec’s Hydra2 audio core, which serves Calrec’s Apollo, Artemis and Summa consoles.

The 1U box has the ability to transport 256 channels of audio through a single connection. It raise that number to 512 channels of audio by adding a second expansion card. The unit can also accept an AVB expansion card to enable simultaneous operation of multiple formats.

The interface connects redundantly to the Hydra2, appearing like any other I/O resource on the Hydra2 network. The Hydra2’s management tools allow remote configuration patching, port protection, alias files, virtual patchbays and access rights.

Calrec is a developer of digital consoles for audio mixing for on-air and live production.
