Audio-Technica Now Shipping B40 Microphone

Large-diaphragm dynamic vocal microphone is designed for radio, podcasting and more July 24, 2015

STOW, Ohio — Audio-Technica is now shipping its BP40 large-diaphragm broadcast microphone, a dynamic vocal microphone with natural condenser-like sound designed to be used for radio, podcasting, over-dubs, post-production and more.

The BP40 features a hypercardioid polar pattern that provides isolation of the desired sound source and maximum off-axis rejection in close production environments. An optimized capsule placement helps maintain a commanding vocal presence at a distance, while the multistage windscreen provides internal pop filtering; a switchable 100 Hz high-pass filter provides additional pop protection.

Designed with a floating-edge construction, the BP40 maximizes diaphragm surface area and optimizes diaphragm performance, while the humbucking voice coil prevents electromagnetic interference. In addition, the BP40 comes standard with AT8483 mounting clamp and an optional AT8484 shock mount.

Audio-Technica’s BP40 is now available at a street price of $349.
