Davicom Introduces Lightning Counter

Designed to be mounted on a tower leg and count direct lightning strikes upon the tower May 24, 2016
QUEBEC — Lightning can be problematic for broadcasters. Davicom introduced a device to detect it in 2015; this year, the company has followed it up with a counter.

The DVLC-1 is designed to be mounted on a tower leg and count direct lightning strikes upon the tower.

A 30-meter fiber-optic cable (essentially strike-resistant and will not provide an electrical path for the lightning) will feed alert information back to any installed Davicom remote control unit.
