iHeart LA Ups Irwin to VP of Engineering

LOS ANGELES �iHeartMediaLos Angeles has promoted Doug Irwin to vice president of engineering for the region, reporting to iHeartMedia Los Angeles Region President Kevin LeGrett.

Effective immediately, Irwin will oversee the 10-station group, which includes KIIS(FM), KFI(AM), KOST(FM) and KBIG(FM).

Most recently, he had worked as the Los Angeles director of engineering, also for iHeartMedia. Prior to that, Irwin spent six years in the New York cluster as the transmissions system supervisor for the group. He also worked as director of engineering for Clear Channel Seattle and as the director of engineering for Clear Channel San Francisco.�

Irwin replaces Dennis Sloatman, who left the company this month to work forSummitMediain Richmond, Va.

Irwin is CPBE DRB AMD certified by the Society of Broadcast Engineers.

He is a longtime contributor and also the technical editor for Radio magazine, a position he has held since March 2015; he was preceded in this role by Shane Toven.
