Air America Media Expands Sales Team

New York - Feb 5, 2009 - Air America Media has restructured its internal sales team to create a new organization to align with the company's radio, online and video platforms. The department will be headed by Scott Elberg, and will include a veteran sales staff as well as additional new hires. As part of the company's plan it will open a Washington, DC, sales office this year.

Elberg is a 25-year radio veteran who has been with Air America since 2005, serving first as vice president and general manager of WLIB-AM, which was previously operated by the network. He later served as chief executive officer and as chief operating officer since 2007. His new title is chief revenue officer. Prior to joining Air America, Elberg worked in radio sales, sales management and general management at several New York radio outlets, including Univision Radio, WKTU-FM, WINS-AM, WFAN-AM, WNEW-FM and WNBC-FM, as well as WBZ-AM Boston and WPLR-FM New Haven, CT.

New hires include Lory George and Terry Howard. They join existing sales staff members Angela Loftus and Joe Kenavan.

Loftus has been vice president of sponsorship sales for Air America since 2007. She was previously manager of business development for the Emmis Communications New York cluster (Hot 97, CD 101.9, Kiss FM). She also served as national account manager for Premiere Radio Networks and Westwood One. A native of St. Louis, she began her career developing integrated advertising campaigns for the St. Louis Rams Radio Network, and St. Louis radio stations KSD-FM and KSHE-95.

Serving as Air America's vice president and director of national and network sales since 2007, Kenavan has more than 27 years of media experience. He previously served as a radio and TV media broadcast buyer and account supervisor for several media companies and agencies, including New York radio stations Kiss FM, Lite FM, WBLS-FM, WKTU-FM and Hot 97. He joined Air America in 2005.

George, Air America's new director of digital sales, has more than 15 years of sales experience, most recently as vice president of sales at National Ad Force, an interactive sales organization in the online advertising industry. She has also served as vice president of sales at, director of East Coast sales for When U and vice president of sales at

Howard, Air America's new account manager, has 20 years of experience in radio advertising, including 14 in national sales at Katz Media as an account executive. He was also New York sales manager at Christal Radio and vice president director of unwired sales for the Katz Radio Group. Previously, he served as senior account executive for Bonneville International's WNSR-FM and WMXV-FM in New York, preceded by account executive work at WJAZ-FM in Stamford, CT.
