APRE Offers Conference Scholarships

Qualifying public broadcast engineers should apply

CHARLOTTE, N.C.�The Association of Public Radio Engineers Board of Directors says they will offer several scholarships to attend the 2016 Public Radio Engineering Conference.

Each scholarship will cover APRE Membership for one year, the PREC registration fee and three nights lodging at the conference hotel.�

It is open to public radio station engineering and operations personnel who meet any of the following criteria: a) Public radio station personnel employed fewer than two years at the station; b) Public radio station personnel who have not attended PREC in the last five years; or c) Other industry representatives as identified by the board of directors. �

In order to apply, one must write a letter of interest and also obtain a letter of recommendation from a supervisor.

The PREC will be held April 14-15 at the Tuscany Suites in Las Vegas, just prior to the 2016 NAB Show.

APRE explained in a release that the event offers technical seminars, contact with broadcast equipment manufacturers, and networking with public radio professionals. �
