Baun Receives SBE Lifetime Achievement Award

Indianapolis - Apr 13, 2010 - Terrence M. Baun, CPBE AMD CBNT, director of engineering and operations for the Wisconsin Educational Communications Board, received the Society of Broadcast Engineers Lifetime Achievement Award. Baun received the award during the 2010 SBE spring membership meeting held during the 2010 NAB Show.
The SBE Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes outstanding contributions and achievements by an individual throughout his or her professional lifetime.
Baun is a 34-year member of the SBE. Within the SBE, Baun has served on the National Certification Committee for 12 years, serving as chairman for three of those years. He also served as a director, vice president and was elected the SBE national president in 1995. Baun was named the SBE Broadcast Engineer of the Year in 1991, which was the first time the award was presented. He was named an SBE Fellow in 1999 and in 2003 was named the SBE Educator of the Year.
SBE President Vinny Lopez, who made the presentation, said, "Terry's dedication to SBE and its mission, as well as his passion for broadcast engineering, are exceptional. His contributions to the industry and the SBE have been tremendous and we are honored to recognize him with this award."
