Bavarian Radio Continues Expansion of DAB+ Network

MUNICH�By the end of this year, Bavarian Radio (Bayerischer Rundfunk) will add 4 new DAB+ mux transmitters to its network. The transmitters, at Alzenau, Amberg, Deggendorf and Hohenpei�enberg, will be heard on channel 11 D.
With the addition of these transmitters, the BR network will have expanded from 28 to 32 locations scattered across Bavaria. The coverage of Digital Radio increases to 98.5 percent of highways and 94.2 percent of A-residents (mobile and outside of buildings). 75.8 percent of the Bavarian population can receive DAB+ in their home.
In 2015, twelve additional sites are planned; 4 of those are nearing completion.
