BBC Looks to German DAB+ to Expand Footprint

London - Feb 28, 2014 - The BBC is considering adding distribution of its English-language international service "BBC World" to DAB+ multiplex transmission across Germany, according to rapidtvnews.com.

If the plan goes forward, the BBC could be heard on digital radio in Germany in important metropolitan areas such as Cologne, D�sseldorf, Hannover and Hamburg, according to Michael Kayser, the German representative of BBC World News, in the industry magazine Meinungsbarometer Digitaler Rundfunk. Negotiations were also underway with media authority LPR Hessen regarding distribution in Frankfurt.
