DAB+ in Australia Approaches the 5 Year Mark

Sydney - June 13, 2014 � DAB+ radio in Australia will celebrate 5 years of service this coming August.
DAB+ is available in the five major capital cities of Australia: Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Perth. Trial broadcasts are taking place in Canberra and Darwin.
Nearly 1.6 million DAB+ radios (1,576,318) radios have been sold since the debut of DAB+ in Australia, according to RadioInfo.Au. Also, the number of Australian vehicle manufacturers supporting DAB+ as optional or standard equipment has now grown to 13, and includes Nissan, Infiniti, Ford, Land Rover, Jaguar, Mercedes, Toyota, Lexus, BMW, Audi, Hino, Isuzu and Fuso Trucks.
Australian Broadcast companies that transmit with DAB+ include Nova Entertainment, ARN, Southern Cross Austereo, Fairfax, Macquarie Network, Capital Radio and Super Radio Network, Tabcorp, RadioTAB and Pacific Star.
