FM chips have been one of the buzzier topics in the news of late with the announcement that AT&T and T-Mobile are embracing activation of FM chips in smartphones, along with Sprint. Its been a focus of NAB Labs as well, as Layer intends to cover it in his presentation. NAB Labs has been a major partner and supporter of the NextRadio initiative and we are excited to see so much progress being made here, said Layer.

He will also discuss some new and upcoming projects for NAB Labs. One of our most recent projects, just now getting underway, is the upgrading of our radio laboratory test bed to include FM as well as AM radio testing capabilities, and I will be discussing that as well as some of the first FM lab projects we are considering, said Layer.

The NAB Labs Focus on Radio Show will take place Thursday, Oct. 1, from 3:30 p.m. 4 p.m. at the Innovation Stage in the Marketplace. The 2015 Radio Show takes place from Sept. 30-Oct. 2 in Atlanta.
