OSLO Ole Jrgen Peat Mark, the General Manager of Digital Radio Norway, is reporting that 50% of Norway''s households now report having at least one DAB+ radio. There are now more than 1.9 million DAB+ radios in the country, according to Radio.no.
Digital radio usage remains stable at a high of 47%. Radio listening via the internet declines somewhat during the summer. Growth in the use of digital radio has increased during the previous fall and winter seasons, and for this reason, Digital Radio Norway expects digital usage to hit the 50% mark in the New Year.
The digital radio survey was carried out by TNS Gallup in conjunction with Norwegian Radio and is the official measurement service. The Digital radio survey will now be reported more often, and the number of interviews in the survey increased so that the numbers can be reported monthly instead of quarterly.
