AMSTERDAMThe Israeli Ministry of Defense has chosen broadcast solution provider GatesAir to support a multi-site expansion of an existing FM Radio network.
The solution includes Flexiva FM transmitters across five power levels, with third-party antennas, cabling and accessories for local tower sites. The new transmitters will be deployed throughout Israel to improve and maximize coverage, extending an FM radio network that already includes GatesAir transmitters.
IMOD says the project''s modular deliveries will allow IMOD engineers to install and deploy the transmitters upon receiving shipments.
Bezeq, the largest telecommunications network in Israel, operates the FM network on behalf of IMOD. The broadband Flexiva designs, based on the GatesAir PowerSmart 3D architecture, will simplify and reduce maintenance requirements for Bezeq through hot-swappable modules and power supplies, fewer spare parts, lighter weights and more.
GatesAir''s compliance with our requests for US origin of the entire turnkey systems, competitive pricing and modular deliveries for easy installation set them apart from competitive bids, according to a statement from the Israeli Ministry of Defense. The high-efficiency designs provide additional advantages, notably the compact size.
The Flexiva transmitters will cover power requirements for 1kW, 2kW, 5kW 10kW and 20kW. Each will include built-in Flexiva FAX exciters.
