Hessen Radio Added to German DAB+ System

Frankfurt - Dec 1, 2011 - Six of Hessen Radio's stations will now be available on the German DAB+ system. These include HR1, HR2-Kultur, HR3, HR4, HR info and YOU FM.

The terrestrial digital radio will initially be on from the transmitter sites Grosser Feldberg/Taunus, along with telecommunications tower in Frankfurt and Mainz-Kastel, covering the entire Rhine-Main area. The coverage area extends in a north-south direction between Gambach and Pfungstadt and east-west direction between Langenselbold and Eltville.

The Hessen radio programs are enhanced through program-related ancillary services that will be expanded gradually after the launch. In addition to the title and artist of the current music (Dynamic Label +) there will be an electronic program guide (EPG) and slideshow images transmitted. These images can include information such as album art of the current title or photo of the programmer.
