Mad Genius Radio Launches Personalized Service

DENVER Mad Genius Radio is the new streamer on the block. Its creators say that it is a platform designed for the way people naturally consume music.
It aims to avoid the feel of a canned playlist through an algorithm based on rotation, rather than correlation. There are 100 human-curated genres, seven of which can then be combined per individual playlist. To further customize the songs played, the platform features a 0-10 sliding scale adjusts how much of each genre will play, while a 0-5 rating scale determines how often each artist or song will rotate. The request feature enables listeners to search and rate an artist's entire collection. Rated music is also filtered via its own slider.
A unique feature: via Time machine, listeners can pick a genre and a specific time period to experience radio as it was back in the day.
The service in the United States and Canada is now available both on the Web and as iOs/Android apps. It''s currently free during an extended trial-period, but it will then introduce its subscription-based pricing model for $5 a month or a $48 annual membership. The service is also ad-free.
