Memorial: Bill Weisinger

William P. Weisinger, CBRTE, of Streetsboro, OH, died Nov. 5, 2010 at Maple Wood Care Center in Streetsboro. He was born Sept. 1, 1949 in Lynbrook, NY. Well-known in the Akron and Cleveland markets in Ohio, he was an adjunct professor at Kent State University in the School of Journalism and Mass Communications. He was the creator of and program director for the Sunday Oldies Jukebox on WSTB-FM. He was also a life member of the Society of Broadcast Engineers and held the Certified Radio TV Broadcast Engineer certification.
Weisinger was well known in Northeast Ohio for his work with WSTB and other small stations. He used many available resources to help smaller stations acquire needed equipment. He was also known for his can-do attitude an eagerness to help whenever asked.
He operated his contract engineering and equipment development company under the name of Weisinger Engineering Services.
As he succumbed to cancer, friends created a website for friends and fans to wish him well during his illness. That site (www.getwellbill.com) is now being used to post memorial tributes to him.
