More DAB transmitters Turned on in the North of Britain

LONDON�12 new DAB mux transmitters have been turned on in the northern part of Britain, extending coverage to 50,000 households. An improvement in coverage is expected for about another half-million households, according to prolificnorth.co.uk.
The addition of these new transmitters is part of a BBC initiative to provide DAB coverage to 97% of the U.K. by 2015.
The new areas covered are: Darwen (Lancashire), Hebden Bridge, Maesteg, Luddenden & Sowerby Bridge, Stocksbridge (South Yorkshire), Matlock & Wirksworth, Oxford & south west Oxfordshire, Rye, East Grinstead, Okehampton, Jedburgh and Biggar.
