New York Festivals Announce Finalists for International Radio Program Awards

More than 30 countries are represented

NEW YORK � The finalists for the 2015 New York Festivals International Radio Program Awards have been announced. 289 finalists representing more than 30 countries will compete in the annual competition that honors innovative work in radio broadcasting.

RT� Networks Ireland led the field with 33 finalists. The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation managed 24 finalists, the BBC had 16 and Radio Television Hong Kong had nine. You can see the full list of finalists here.�

There were a number of new categories included in this year�s awards. Among them are Best Innovation, which will showcase creative and technical innovation in radio broadcasting, and Best Audio Books, showcasing the rising trend in spoken entertainment. All finalists now move on to the medal round where the Grand Jury will select the gold, silver and bronze trophy winners in each category.

The awards will be handed out on June 22 at annual Awards Gala at Manhattan Penthouse in New York City.
