Polskie Radio Submits Tender to Expand DAB+

Warsaw - Sep 24, 2013 - Polish Public Broadcaster Polskie Radio has submitted a tender for the operation of a DAB+ network around the country for a period of three years beginning January 2014, according to TelecomPaper. With the use of a DAB+ mulitplex, Polskie Radio will be able to broadcast its current five channels, along with five new channels, as well as a number of regional channels.

Test transmissions of DAB+ can already by heard around Warsaw and Katowice. Expanded DAB+ service is to begin on Oct. 1, 2013, temporarily using the facilities of Emitel.
