Andy Rooney to Keynote RCA Banquet
Littleton, CO - Aug 31, 2007 - At the Radio Club of America's Nov. 16, 2007, banquet, Andy Rooney will deliver the keynote speech. The banquet, conducted at the New York Athletic Club in New York City, marks RCA's 98th anniversary.

Since 1978, Rooney has delivered more than 800 essays on the CBS TV network's Sunday evening news magazine program, "60 Minutes." He joined CBS in 1949 as a writer for "Arthur Godfrey's Talent Scouts." He also wrote for CBS News public-affairs broadcasts. In the 1960s, as a writer and producer, he collaborated with CBS News Correspondent Harry Reasoner on CBS news specials. He was a producer for Reasoner during the first few seasons of "60 Minutes." Rooney has written a national newspaper column for Tribune Media Services since 1979. Among the 14 books he has written, the most recent is Years of Minutes, published in 2003 by Perseus Books. Rooney has won three Emmy Awards, a Lifetime Achievement Emmy and a Peabody Award. In the fall, Rooney will begin his 30th season on "60 Minutes."

SBE to Present National Webcast
Indianapolis, IN - Sep 4, 2007 - The Society of Broadcast Engineers will present a special webcast, "The SBE and You," on Oct. 9 from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. EDT. The webcast will offer members and chapters an opportunity to hear directly from the SBE's national leaders on current issues and projects. Hosted by President Chriss Scherer and President-elect, Barry Thomas, the program will begin with an update on activities and a review of the SBE leadership structure. It will then cover a review of the current strategic planning process underway, provide insight into the latest educational efforts of the Society and deliver additional updates on ongoing projects and programs. More than half of the program will be devoted to an open question-and-answer session, when members can e-mail, call or instant message questions to the webcast to be answered live by the SBE officers, board members or national staff.

FCC Seeks Applicants for Training Program
Washington, DC - The Federal Communications Commission announced that it is seeking applications from engineering school graduates with superior academic credentials and an interest in communications engineering for its 2007 Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Program. Through the program, the FCC recruits new and recent engineering school graduates to the FCC and the field of communications.

Recent engineering school graduates and candidates for graduation in the fall of 2007 are invited to apply for several openings in the program''s fall 2007 class. All EIT Program participants will be located at the FCC's headquarters in Washington, D.C. or select FCC field offices. Candidates will receive training at FCC headquarters. Applications must be received by Sept. 21, 2007.

Liquid Compass to Provide Media Players for Internet Radio
Denver - Sep 5, 2007 - Liquid Compass is one of the first providers to offer a custom media player within the radio industry that utilizes Microsoft Silverlight technology to broadcast a live stream, while also using the cross-browser capabilities of Silverlight to rotate synchronized in-stream and banner advertisement content across multiple browsers and platforms. The new technology will begin integration into Liquid Compass clients'' media players in September 2007.

Behringer and Infinium Partner DJ Fader Technology
Plasa, London � Sep 9, 2007, Behringer and Infinium Technologies have signed a deal to use Infinium's patented contact-free fader technology in future Behringer DJ products.

Infinium and Behringer have been co-developing a new 45mm optical and contact-free fader that will be used in a series of Behringer DJ mixers scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2008.

THX Surround Increases Among Major Manufacturers
Kirkland, WA - Sep 5, 2007 - Neural Audio Corporation and THX Ltd. have seen their Neural-THX Surround technology integrated in an estimated 70 percent of new audio-video receivers, from companies such as Sony, Pioneer, Yamaha, Onkyo, Integra, Denon and Marantz.

In addition to the home receiver launch in January 2006, Neural-THX Surround is involved in radio broadcast through XM Radio, and The Classical Radio Network (CPRN), as well as a number of commercial broadcasters across the United States.

Neural-THX Surround enables a bit rate-efficient and stereo-compatible representation of multi-channel audio. Fraunhofer IIS Becomes Axia Partner
Cleveland, OH - Sep 6, 2007 - Germany's Fraunhofer-IIS research organization is now an Axia Audio partner. According to Alexander Zink, product director of Fraunhofer's Content Server systems, Fraunhofer plans on implementing the Livewire standard for IP-Audio connectivity into their broadcast server solutions, making it possible for broadcasters with Axia IP-Audio networks to integrate with Fraunhofer ContentServer products using a single, simple Ethernet connection.

RCS Names New Managers
White Plains, NY - Aug 31, 2007 - Shaun Bullock has been named the manager of software quality assurance at RCS Ogallala, while Tony Williams will take over the QA lab in the White Plains headquarters. Bullock has been in the software industry since 1994 when he began installing Novell Netware servers. He has been with Prophet/RCS since 2001.

Tony Williams has been a broadcast engineer since 1989, working with the RCS automation products since 1997. Williams was recently the product manager for the Selector XV line of RCS products. Taking the reins of product management for Master Control is Eric Vanryckeghem. Vanryckeghem has been in the broadcast industry since 1981 and joined RCS in August 1999. Most recently he was the lead program developer for RCS Traffic. He will be based in White Plains.

Istor Networks Appoints Daly as CEO
Irvine, CA - Sep 5, 2007 - Istor Networks, announced that Dr. Kevin C. Daly has assumed the role of chief executive officer, expanding on his existing position as chairman of the board. Simon Huang, a founder of Istor, will assume the role of chief operating officer working with Daly to grow Istor on a worldwide basis.

Daly's prior experience includes a CEO post with Avamar Technologies, a five year tenure as CEO of ATL Products, and CEO of Maxxess Systems. BE Installs HD Radio in Germany and Vietnam
Quincy, IL - Sep 5, 2007 - Broadcast Electronics is participating in an HD Radio test at Radio Regenbogen, one of Germany's private radio stations; a test of the first HD Radio broadcast from Czech Republic; and completed HD Radio testing in Prague, the first in the Slovak Republic region.
