RF Specialties Adds Four in Sales

Feb 4, 2013 - The RF Specialties Group has hired four experienced broadcasters to its sales force. The four will serve various regions of the United States.

John George will concentrate his efforts on the Southeast U.S. As a partner in the new territory he will have responsibility for developing the Southeastern operation. He has more than 40 years of experience in broadcasting beginning his extensive career as a disk jockey, progressing through programming, sales, engineering and station ownership. For the past 17 years he has worked in sales for Harris, Dielectric Communications, LBA Technology and Broadcast Connection. He also provides technical services for radio stations in South Carolina and was responsible for the upgrade of WUSC-FM, the University of South Carolina's student radio station from analog to http://hdradio.com">HD Radio broadcasting in 2007. George has provided assistance to numerous other stations with their HD Radio upgrades.

George is co-chairman of the South Carolina Broadcasters Association Engineering Committee and serves as chairman of the S.C. Emergency Communications Committee that oversees the Emergency Alert System. He spearheaded the development of the SCBA's Alternative Broadcast Inspection Program and serves as a technical consultant for the S.C. AMBER Alert Program. He is a member of the IEEE, the SBE and is an associate member of the Association of Federal Communications Consulting Engineers.

Bob Groome has more than 30 years of broadcasting experience and joins RF Specialties to cover the Southeast U.S. He has been station engineer, consultant, announcer, chief engineer, group director of engineering, contract engineer and most recently a sales engineer.

Groome worked for Carl E. Smith Consulting Engineers, was a Harris Broadcast Field Service engineer, and manufactured PC boards for General Electric sub-contracting to NASA. He joins RF Specialties from ERI as West Coast Radio manager and was previously National Sales Manager for Jampro Antennas. Groome's earlier endeavors include Arrakis Systems, Wheatstone Corporation, Cetec Broadcast Group and Allied Broadcast Equipment.

Groome has a BSEE from Stanford Hill University, and Associate's Degree in Electronic Technologies from Orlando Electronic Institute, is a Certified First Class Engineer (NARTE) and a member of the SBE. He has authored many technical papers and presented internationally in Japan, Mexico, Canada as well as SBE National, regional and local chapters, Texas Association of Broadcasters, the Madison Wisconsin Broadcasters Clinic, Los Angeles HD training seminar and many others. Tom Driggers Tom has more than 30 years of experience in radio and television, having entered the broadcast industry at age 13. He has designed, built and maintained multiple facilities of various sizes in small and major markets, from studios to high power transmitter facilities. He has extensive knowledge and experience in the end-to-end functions of radio and TV broadcast facilities including building construction and modifications, computer/IT, audio, video, RF, preventative maintenance, procedures, documentation and FCC compliance. He has also owned and operated stations during his career.

Driggers joins the RF Specialties Group Northwest regional offices.

Tara Littlejohn is new to radio and television, but brings an extensive background in accounting and sales with responsibilities for operations of the Southwestern and Southeastern regions of the RF Specialties Group. She has operated her own company. She will be the accountant and sales assistant for the Southwestern and Southeastern regions from the Texas office.
