Indianapolis - Aug 11, 2010 - - The Ennes Educational Foundation Trust has awarded three scholarships for 2010. Winners were chosen from applications received by July 1, 2010, from the previous 12 months.

The Harold E. Ennes and Robert D. Greenberg scholarships are awarded to individuals interested in continuing or beginning their education in broadcast engineering and technology. The Youth Scholarship is specifically for a graduating high school senior interested in broadcast engineering as a career. Each scholarship awarded this year is for $1,500.

This year the Harold E. Ennes Scholarship recipient is Johnny Finley. Finley, from Tacoma, WA, is a sophomore at Bates Technical College studying broadcast/video production. He is currently participating in an internship as a cameraman and audio technician for the Tacoma Rainer's minor league baseball team. He is also a volunteer camera operator and sound engineer for the youth department at the Champions Centre church in Tacoma. Finley will be using this scholarship towards his tuition and textbook expenses.

Receiving the Robert Greenberg Scholarship is Jeffrey Edward Miller, CTO, from Parma Heights, OH. Miller is currently enrolled at Cuyahoga Community College studying electrical engineering. He plans to use this scholarship for classes and books for the fall of 2010. While in high school, Miller was the audio engineer for the Parma Area Community Television of Parma High School. He also attended radio and television vocational classes at Normand High School.

Michael Malec, from Oregonia, OH, received the Youth Scholarship. Malec is a graduate of Bishop Fenwick High School where he participated in the building, design and operations of the school's radio station, WFXR. In the fall, Malec will be using this scholarship for his tuition at the University of Cincinnati where he will major in electrical engineering.

The Harold Ennes Scholarship Fund Trust was initiated by Indianapolis Chapter 25 in 1980 in memory of Harold E. Ennes, author of many textbooks for broadcast and broadcast-related communications training and a member of the Indianapolis chapter. Ennes was a member of the Society of Broadcast Engineers' national Certification Committee and made many contributions to the early development of the Certification Program. The Scholarship Trust was transferred to the SBE national organization to administer in 1981.
