INDIANAPOLIS, IND.�Ahead of next week's annual meeting, the Society of Broadcast Engineers has announced the availability of the second edition of its SBE Handbook for Radio Operators, as well as the 2015 Tower Site calendar and a new computer networking online course.
The second edition of the handbook was revised and updated by Ron Bartlebaugh, CBNT. It is intended to be used as a study guide to prepare those who would take the SBE Certified Radio Operator test. In related news, deadline to register for the November certification exam has been extended until October 8. The test is included in the cost of the book ($49 per copy, plus shipping).
The SBE Bookstore also has the 2015 Tower Site Calendar in stock now. It is published by Fybush.com/NorthEast Radio Watch and is available at a discount to SBE members � $3 off the original price of $19. This year''s calendar features sites ranging from all over the country.
The society is also offering an online course in Computer Networking for Broadcast Engineers to provide an �introduction to the fundamental concepts of computer networking.� It will also offer preparation for the SBE Certified Broadcast Networking Technologist exam. This course is written for the SBE by Paul Claxton, CPBE, CBNT, and it qualifies for one credit as identified under Category I of the Recertification Schedule for SBE Certifications.
