MUNICHGerman public broadcaster Sdwestrundfunk has expanded coverage of its own DAB+ network across the state of Baden-Wrttemberg.

Radio.nl reports that in the south of Baden-Wrttemberg, SWR has a network on channel 8D; in the northeast SWR has its network on channel 9D, while in the strip Ulm-Stuttgart- Mannheim-Karlsruhe-Freiburg, SWR is transmitted via channel 11B.

When SWR decided to build its own DAB+ networks, there was little interest from other broadcasters in the area; however, that changed, and SWR added capacity for commercial stations as well. Commercial stations on the network now include Big FM World Beats, Live Radio, Schwarzwald Radio and Ego FM.

Effective December 1st, SWR1 BW, SWR2, SWR3, SWR4 BW, SWR info and Das Ding will be available on SWR''s networks throughout the state. Additionally, Baden FM (Freiburg), Die Neue Welle (Karlsruhe), Die Neue 107.7 (Stuttgart), Donau 3 FM (Ulm), Hitradio Ohr (Offenburg), Radio Regenbogen (Mannheim), Radio 7 (Ulm) and VHR Radio, formerly an internet-only station, will be available via the channel 11B network.
