WASHINGTONSome shuffling is set to occur at the FCC, as the Commission has announced that Roger C. Sherman, chief of the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau, will be leaving the FCC at the end of February. FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler plans to name Jon Wilkins, who currently serves as the Commissions managing director, as Shermans replacement.
Sherman has been with the FCC since 2013, prior to which he served as Democratic Chief Counsel to the House Committee on Energy and Commerce. Wilkins has also been with the Commission since 2013, serving as its chief operating official, as well as serving as Wheelers advisor for management. He previously worked at the law firm McKinsey & Company in Washington.
Wheeler also announced that he intends to move Mark Stephens, who has been the FCCs chief financial officer since 2006, as acting managing director.
